Prof. Peter Lambert
Prof. Peter Lambert of University of Oregon visited CoE/MSE
during February and March, 2014. He is an authority in the
fields of income inequality and distributional issues. During
his stay, Prof. Lambert delivered two special lectures at MSE on
the topics, “Inequality, welfare and redistribution” and
“Disparities in Socio-Economic Outcomes: Some Positive
Propositions and their Normative Implications” on February 14
and 25, 2014, respectively. Prof. Peter Lambert has contributed
to MSE working paper 84/2014 – ‘Group
Inequalities and Scanlan’s Rule: Two Apparent Conundrums and How

Dr. M. S. Suneetha
Dr. M.S.
Suneetha, Adj. Senior Research Fellow, UNU-IAS spent two months
– September and October 2013 – at the Centre as Visiting
Researcher. Dr. Suneetha gave a seminar at MSE on, “The
Economics of Biodiversity and Ecosystems: Finding Reasons to
Secure your Food, Health and Wellbeing”, on 4th
November 2013. Dr. Suneetha has also contributed to the CoE
dissemination paper series DP: 26 ‘Economics
of Biodiversity’.

Dr.Paul P. Appasamy
The Centre
hosted Dr. Paul P. Appasamy during January-March 2013 as
Visiting Researcher.
Dr. Paul P. Appasamy prepared a policy note on Terms of
Reference of the 14th Finance Commission during his
stay at the Centre. The note was submitted to the Ministry for
its consideration and use in its inputs to the Finance
Commission.

Dr. Chandra Kiran B. Krishnamurthy
Dr. Chandra
Kiran B. Krishnamurthy from Sweden visited the Centre during
winter of 2011 as the Visiting Researcher and worked on issues
related to climate change impacts on Indian agriculture. He gave
a public seminar, “Distributional
Implications of Climate Change on Indian Agriculture: A Quantile
Regression Approach”, on 13th January 2012
at MSE. The work carried out during the stay at MSE by Dr.
Chandrakiran was brought out as MSE working paper 69/2012.
