Climate Change: Global Risks, Challenges and Decisions

Details The main aim of the congress is to provide a synthesis of existing and emerging scientific knowledge necessary in order to make intelligent societal decisions concerning application of mitigation and adaptation strategies in response to climate change. The findings of the congress will be supplementary to the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). International Colloquium on Environmentally Preferred Advanced Power Generation

Details The colloquium is organized by the National Fuel Cell Research Center and the Advanced Power and Energy Program at the University of California, Irvine in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy; the European Union; the United Nations; the Pacific Rim Consortium on Energy, Combustion, and the Environment; and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. The colloquium features a series of presentations on the technological, environmental, regulatory, and market aspects of distributed and central plant power including (1) emerging international activity; (2) development of the international market for fuel cell/gas turbine hybrid technology, renewable technologies, and IGCC and IGFC technologies; and (3) the potential for cooperation and collaboration among participating countries.
